If you have no computer, but you have a tablet and a smartphone, or two smartphones, here is how you can still sing at ZOOMAROKE!
Note – you won’t sound as good as if you have a computer and a smartphone, but it will still sound pretty good!
Use your best smartphone to join the main Zoom session:
Zoom Meeting ID 827-1055-4097
Choose your song from the DJ Purple Dance Karaoke songbook
When it’s your turn to sing, go to the phone app on your smartphone, and make a phone call to our Google Voice number: (650) 701-3977
Turn on your phone’s speakerphone (tap on “Speaker”) and make sure you can hear DJ Purple. (Note: be sure to keep the speakerphone on while singing, in order to activate the correct microphone.)
Go back to the Zoom app on your phone, tap the screen to see the controls, tap on the “…More” button in the bottom right corner of the screen, and tap on “Disconnect audio”
Turn your phone sideways so we can see you better!
On your tablet or second smartphone, go to our music & lyrics player:
Check to make sure the player is not paused and that the volume is up to maximum.
Listen for DJ Purple counting “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” and join in to count with him out loud at exactly the same time.
Sing to your smartphone, and also watch the audience on your smartphone, while reading the lyrics from your tablet or second smartphone.
Note: don’t watch the second lyrics window on Zoom on your phone when you sing – the timing will be off for you – that window is for the audience. Follow the lyrics on your tablet or second smartphone.
When your song is done: on your smartphone, tap in the bottom left corner of the Zoom app on “Join Audio”, then tap on “Call using internet audio”
Listen to your fans cheering!
Now that you’ve successfully sung a song on ZOOMAROKE, it’s time to learn how to support other singers and tips for sounding better! But we’ll save that for ZOOMAROKE Singing Instructions, PART 2!
